About Us

The Jitterbugs are in their 9th year and have gone from strength to strength with their high energy, very entertaining, interactive and educational non-stop musical extravaganza. First class children's entertainment.

April School Holidays were so much fun with our Environmentally friendly show. We travelled all over the place entertaining thousands of children.
The Jitterbugs have fun teaching the kids great ways to look after our environment and us bugs, through song and dance. Holroyd Council's Kids Day Out was huge! It was also great to meet Alvin and the Chipmunks.

We are happy to announce that we will be back at Albury/Wodonga's Childrens fair on Sunday 12th October 2008.

The people in Wodonga really know how to party and they were very, very hospitable.

Looking forward to flying down again...

The Jitterbugs Characters

Snug Bug & Hug Bug
the Sensational Lady Bugs

Bugs protect our plants, especially the roses, from the Aphids (also known as plant lice). Aphids are the lady bugs' favourite food. The Lady Bugs are two fun loving precious characters who interact and teach the children that it is good to love and hug one another.

Jessie the Gorgeous Butterfly

Jessie the gorgeous butterfly is a major attraction. Every little girl wants to be Jessie the gorgeous butterfly. Her story of how she changes from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly is an amazing tale for all the children. The transformation from the caterpillar stage, an inactive pupal stage (asleep in the cocoon) and a spectacular metamorphosis into a familiar and colourful winged butterfly form.

Fibee the Boogying Bumble Bee

Fibee the boogying bumble bee keeps the children boogying with her educational segments on how bees collect the pollen from the flowers and turn it into honey. Did you know that bees are also marvellous flying machines? They can carry a load of pollen close to their own body weight. Not even the most advanced design in aircraft can take off with a load one-quarter of its own weight. The children appreciate the miracle that the boogying bumblebee can remain airborne with such a load.

Snappy the Happy Crocodile

Snappy the Happy Crocodile is a hit with both boys and girls. He is our friendly character, a friend of The Jitterbugs. He not only loves to play soccer, he loves to fish and teach the children the importance of eating protein to build and strengthen their muscles.

Frogodile

Frogodile is a unique fun and crazy character. He's half frog, half crocodile. Frogodile sends a subtle message through to the children that it's alright to be a little different and through mixing colours together (eg. yellow & blue to make green Frogodile juice) that colours can also be different when we mix them together.

Hopsie the Ballerina Bunny

Hopsie the ballerina bunny loves ballet and of course loves to jump. Her healthy eating habits eg. vegetables, carrots, lettuce etc contribute to promoting healthy eating habits for the children.

Daisy the Dancing Dragon Fly

Daisy the Dancing Dragon Fly loves to dance and dive. She also controls the population of harmful insects eg. mosquitos (better known as mosquito hawks). She loves them. She also is one of the world's fastest insects and is capable of reaching speeds of between 30-60km/hr. Daisy also employs a particular optical illusion called active motion camouflage, a unique predatory ploy by moving rapidly towards her prey while appearing stationary.

The Jitterbugs Factfile...

  • The educational angle has played a very important role in the development of The Jitterbugs

  • Performances Include major venues - Darling Harbour Australia Day 1999 & 2000, New Years Eve 1999-2000 Carols by Candle Light

  • The Sophie Delezio and the Day with Difference Concert at Clontarf was a day to remember along with our show at Wahroonga Bush School for the Christle and Family Ben & Ella which helped to raise $80,000 in funds for the Oncology ward at the Children's Hospital Westmead.

  • These are just a few of our major concerts that The Jitterbugs have been invovled in. There are many, many more, too many to mention which invovle many Pre-Schools, playgroups and Kindi concerts.
